What is included in the TretDirect package?
Your package includes regular assessments by a doctor, three blood tests, monthly pregnancy tests (if applicable) and generic Isotretinoin to 135mg/kg for patients up to 75kg in weight. This package is sufficient for more than 85% of our patients to complete a full, primary course of Isotretinoin therapy.
What if I weigh more than 75kg?
A supplement of £100 is necessary for patients who weigh between 76kg and 100kg (up to 15 stone 7 pounds) as more medication will be needed. We will quote the cost of additional medication required for patients who weigh more than 100kg.
How can you do the service so cheaply?
There are three reasons why TretDirect’s service is a cost effective one:
Firstly, we have put a lot of time and effort into researching and developing a world class process that has put patient satisfaction at the forefront of its provision, including the quick and efficient management of patient’s needs.
Secondly, carrying out our consultations and check-ups via video-link eliminates the need for office space and the outgoing costs that are included as a result.
Finally, we have built up trusting relationships with the outside agencies we work alongside. By negotiating large volume discounts on lab tests and medication, we are able to pass these savings on to you – our patients.
Will there be any compromise between the treatment I receive form TretDirect versus that from the NHS or another private clinic?
The experts at TretDirect have meticulously developed a process that is safe, effective and efficient. When we compare our services to those that are available on the NHS and other private clinics, we are proud to say that we deliver on the expectations of our patients. Our dedication to providing an exacting service ensures we continue to research and develop our processes, so that our patients do not feel compromised on their treatment.
Our research into obtaining Roaccutane and eliminating acne through the NHS has found that patients are often under dosed (prescribing 100mg/kg of body weight). At TretDirect we ensure that the dose we prescribe will have a much higher duration of benefit – prescribing 135mg/kg of body weight. Within some private clinics, our research led us to finding inconsistencies in their services, gaps in the treatment and non-therapeutic dosing.
If I have a consultation with TretDirect, am I guaranteed to be prescribed Roaccutane?
At TretDirect we are committed to giving our patients the best possible care and advice, according to their individual situation. Our doctors will use their expertise to carefully assess the condition that they are presented with and Roaccutane will only be prescribed if the doctor feels that this is the right solution and will produce the results the patient seeks.
During the consultation process the doctor will determine if the patient is suitable for Isotretinoin therapy. Since most people come to us once they have gone through the rigmarole of GP antibiotics and creams, a very high percentage of patients are accepted to our care.
Male patients don’t need pregnancy tests. Why isn’t the price cheaper for men?
The medication will make up a large part of the total cost of Isotretinoin therapy. As we often find that a proportion of our female patients are naturally lighter in weight than men, this will mean that our male patients will generally require more medication (which carries a higher cost). When we compare this with the cost of carrying out pregnancy tests, we find that overall, this amounts to a similar price.
What does Roaccutane treatment at TretDirect involve?
Isotretinoin therapy is a highly effective treatment. However, because of the risks and side effects, it is considered a therapy of last resort and can only be prescribed by experienced doctors who monitor you during treatment. The first step is a consultation with the prescribing doctor. There are a range of acne treatments and medications, so your doctor will assess if Roaccutane is the most suitable treatment for you. Suitability will be determined through your condition, your medical history and any previous treatments (whether they were prescribed, or obtained over the counter) that you’ve had for acne, as well as the final outcome you wish to achieve. If accepted under care, the next step will be a baseline blood test and (for women who could become pregnant) a pregnancy test. Once reviewed and verified, your prescription will be issued. Your prescription will then be filled by our UK registered pharmacy partner and dispatched direct to your home address. Your prescribing doctor will ensure you attend regular check-ups (on-line) and arrange further blood tests and pregnancy tests as they are required. Once you’ve achieved your cumulative target dose, you will be discharged from care.
Is the standard of care I receive from TretDirect as good as the NHS?
We have developed our service to reach the highest of standards, meeting with expectations of our patients, which we are proud to boast also surpasses the service that is provided by the NHS. The cumulative dose that is usually provided by the NHS is 100mg/kg of body weight at most, compared to 135mg/kg of body weight, which is provided by TretDirect. Our dosage is prescribed according to internationally accepted dosage advice and has produced effective, long term results for many patients. We can only conclude that the low dosage provided by the NHS is due to budgeting reasons and can impact on the duration of benefit from treatment.
